How a fridge works

With the improvement in the field of technology there are many inventions which prove to be very useful for the day to day life of mankind. The inventions of home appliances have reduced the strain of home makers and it helps them to handle their office and home work simultaneously. Refrigerator is one such invention.

Refrigerator which is commonly known as a ‘fridge’ is none other than a cooling appliance which is used for storing and preserving food especially the perishables. Food which is kept at ambient temperature would probably get spoiled due to the bacterial actions. If the food is stored at a relatively lower temperature, the spoilage of the food will be prevented. In every refrigerator there are two parts. The larger part of the refrigerator is normally used to store food which we use daily. This part maintains a temperature which is a few degrees above the freezing point. The smaller part is called the freezer where the temperature is a few degrees below the freezing point.

Food kept in a freezer generally gets frozen. The freezer has to be maintained at a temperature of 0 degree Fahrenheit. The freezers are used for domestic purpose and also for commercial purpose. Freezers which are used for domestic purpose comes along with the refrigerator. The freezers which are used for commercial purposes cannot be used at home because of the toxic gas used in it.
