Simplest form of this component was developed by Germans in 1940s however the technology was by passed by them because they felt it to be unreliable. Said technology was taken up by Great Britain and was further refined. However meanwhile World War II broke out and Great Britain went in to financial crunch therefore it swapped said technology with Americans for financial assistance. Said technology was effectively used in radars at that time and proved to be one of the war winning factors. Said technology was further refined in United States of America. Basically the idea to develop microwave oven was conceived by Spenser when he saw chocolate being melted in his pocket. In 1950s simplest form of microwave oven was developed however it took almost decade to refine it and produce it for normal users. However price of microwave oven was unaffordable by many people at that time. Microwave oven was very useful machine therefore its development continued and in mid 1980s more sophisticated with manageable price it came to the market. These days this machine is at its peak of sophistication and has captured the attention of almost all the houses and it is very difficult to find home with out microwave oven.

 

Reason for capturing attention of large percentage of people may be because it has more advantages than disadvantages. Microwave ovens basically heats up the food by means of waves. What waves actually do is that they make the water particles inside food evaporate and in the process remaining food particles rub against each other and generate heat by means of friction and as a result food is cooked or heated up. Its principle is simple more energy you will supply more quickly food will be heated up. In order to get the food cooked fast or get the food heated up fast you should either provide more energy because if energy supplied is less than it will take time for cooking.
